Commissions Gallery # 1 - 2
Work commissioned by the Central Institute for the Deaf for the lobby of the new facility.
Purpose of commission: To express the spirit and tell the story of the Central Institute for the Deaf, while maintaining an aesthetic focus on the universal qualities of the everyday lives of all persons - hearing, hearing-impaired, and deaf. At the same time, the work was to be a place where the donors who made the new facilities possible are honored.
Worked with Mackey Mitchell, Architects, and a 9-member committee and assisted in the design of a niche area. The artist stayed within the designated budget and completed the project on time, exceeding the expectations of the proposed concept.
